Twas the month before Christmas when all through the school every creature was stirring including the mice school council decided this year would be different the fundraiser would be new and definitely nice prizes were donated generous pledges were lured the students would dance of that we were sure the tables were filled with the prizes secured the excitement was building the cries soon to be heard every pledgee got some tickets and now with ballots in hand the children decided where each vote would land kerplunk or the Lego the craft bags or shirts gift card train set baby alive or the net the whoopee cushion that hair chalk the Barbie which burps the prizes were many the choices immense, the excitement was building which one would each get the kids couldn't stand it it was just so intense now the teacher did warn that, not all would be yours, only one winner drawn from each Brown Bag unfurled the goal of this day to raise money for all so that each can have fun in the future and have a ball it's not about the prizes we hope they would learn it's about taking care of all others and turn
 their eyes wide with wonder they all understood and still most silently prayed their names would be pulled from that bag on that day now the day finally came and the music was blasting instructor Jamie was here to show them the dancing the kids they were moving and jigging away lots of fun to be had by all who were there on that day Then the music did stop and the kids all sat down the big moment was here when the name is would be drawn 50 names were then pulled one after the other with loud cheers from each and then the other through deafening Applause the winners did collect the prizes they wanted but didn't dare to expect 
A few tears were shed, and some sadness erupted "I didn't win the prize I wanted so much." but then the magic of Christmas did come from a few students who truly did Understand  While  prizes are thrilling and feel quite good in the hand it is in giving away to another that pure joy filled the land your prize you love you freely gave away to make another child smile on that day Hats off to those students you know who you are your light is shining the brightest by far your small active love reminded us all the true season of Christmas is kindness and love
